Transportation Services

Marana Health Center offers transportation services to minimize barriers our patients/clients who may have to receive medical and behavioral health services.

Since 2002, MHC has partnered with ADOT to reduce barriers to medical and behavioral health services limited by the lack of public transportation available in the rural NW Pima County service area.  MHC Transportation is provided as a non-fare/free service for patients and clients of the Main and Santa Catalina clinics with the goal of assisting those in need with a basic service so they may get to medical, dental and counseling appointments.

MHC Healthcare Transportation Services operates a fleet of five(5) vehicles made possible through a grant partnership with Arizona Department of Transportation(ADOT) and Pima Associated Governments (PAG).  The patients/clients of the two Northwest clinic locations, The Marana Health Center is located in rural Marana and the clinic of Santa Catalina located in Catalina, have limited public transport services.

Our drivers maintain exceptional driving records. MHC thoroughly screens all drivers and conducts background checks as well as requires drug testing and fingerprinting as a condition of employment. MHC drivers are thoroughly trained to safely assist and transport patients/clients with physical and psychological disabilities through in-service and drivers meetings.  Furthermore, first aid training, TB tests and pre-employment physicals are required for all drivers.

Our handicapped accessible vehicles are clean, safe and reliable. Vans are inspected and maintained on a regular basis. Proper procedures on seat belt and wheelchair securement are mandatory and enforced for all patient/client transports.

Transportation is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exception of holidays.
